FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Q. Why are your courses spread over 10 weeks, when some companies may offer 8 weeks?
A. City & Guilds state the training for the 6129 certificate should cover approximately 400 hours. The best way to teach this is 40 hours per week x 10 weeks.
There are companies that may require home study to enable the student to learn the relevant modules missed within the 8 weeks.

Q. I've been interested in doing a plumbing course for a while now, and your course seems to fit the bill. Do you offer any sort of open days to view the facilities and have a chat?
A. You can take a look around our training centre every Thursday morning at 10.00am. Please telephone to make an appointment.

Q. I am keen to enrol on your course but live over 100 miles away - do you have student accommodation?
A. Please see our accommodation page.

Q. Do you need any prior experience or have some knowledge of plumbing to be able to enrol?
A. No. We have trained people from all walks of life e.g. (IT professionals, Teachers, Salespeople)

Q. How is the course structured i.e. Monday to Friday, set hours etc?
A. Monday to Friday 9am - 6pm
The courses work through any bank holidays that may arise.

Q. How often do courses run?
A. Our course dates are on the Application Form

Q. How big are the classes?
A. You work in groups of a maximum of 10 (practical sessions). The class size of the theory sessions tends to be larger, as we may have people from other groups.
